RASA offer a confidential helpline providing information and emotional support to people who have been subjected to rape and sexual abuse. The helpline runs 3 times per week.
support you in this role and you will work in two’s so that you have extra support if needed. You must be able to travel to our Birkenhead Centre to operate the helpline however, in some circumstance (Covid 19) the helpline will be transferred, and you will work from home. Ideally you would have a good understanding of the impacts of sexual abuse and understand the issues that those subjected to sexual abuse may face. Good communication skills and understanding of safeguarding adults and children is essential for this role. In return for a regular commitment of two shifts per month, RASA offers formal training covering basic counselling skills (Level 2 ) and specific information relevant to the work of the helpline, as well as access to on-going training opportunities. Support is provided via monthly one to one and group supervision.
